E911 Accuracy, TV White Spaces and E-Rate on FCC September Agenda
Posted on September 2, 2010The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has announced its tentative agenda for its September 23 Open Meeting. The FCC is scheduled to adopt a long-awaited order on E911 location accuracy and a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and Notice of Inquiry on E911 location accuracy for new voice communications technologies such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). The FCC also plans to adopt an order finalizing provisions for unlicensed wireless devices to operate in TV white spaces, and an order aimed at upgrading, modernizing and streamlining the E-Rate program.
